Lovers of the two greatest things on earth, cats and coffee – be prepared. A café is opening in Leeds which combines a wonderful mixture of homemade foods, cakes, coffee and loose tea with our feline friends.

‘Kitty Café’ is expanding to the very heart of Leeds city centre in the summer after the success of a branch in Nottingham. Owner of the café, ‘Kate Charles- Richards’ announced that the ‘Leeds branch is the first part of the cafe’s plans to expand nationwide’.

However, ‘Kitty Café’ is not only a café, it is also significantly a cat rescue home as most of the cats are available to be rehomed, after all their vet requirements are complete. Kate added that seeing the cats leave the café is always a ‘bittersweet moment’ but it is reassuring that ‘they can help so many more cats in the community’.

The café promises to be relaxing and therapeutic atmosphere for all lovers of cats, including vegetarians and vegans who are also catered for on the menu. This unique addition to the thriving Leeds high street will undoubtedly follow in the footsteps of the Nottingham branch and will be a welcoming environment where customers can witness the good work which is done for all the cat residents, over a latte and a piece of cake. What more could you ever need?
