Fruity found to be airbrushing VK’s from their photos

First they came for the VK’s…

Fruity, Leeds’ beloved union-run club night is thought to be blurring out images of the alcopop VK in its official club photos.

A staple alcoholic beverage which comes in seven fluorescent flavours, VK’s have become virtually synonymous with Fruity and is surely the club night’s most popular drink. So why are the union trying to remove all traces of it from their photos?

Liam Ashmore, a student at Leeds, first noticed this was happening when his own VK was blurred out of a photo. Asked about the incident, he said “It’s a sad moment that they are denying us the possibility to show our friends we smashed Fruity hard on the VK’s. As I typical Leeds student these Fruity VK’s are part of my diet and I thought that Fruity would like to promote this fact, however yet another case of censorship has taken off in the world, next they will be airbrushing our faces out!”

For the union to carry out such a villainous thing, it must have good reason – right? Is it because the beloved VK has a bad rep, or is considered too low brow for the likes of Fruity? Come on Fruity, you’re not that high class yourself, and you know what they say – pride comes before a fall.

Maybe they don’t have the right licensing to sell VK’s? Maybe they even just wanted the publicity once people started noticing. Or, maybe it’s as simple as the fact that they don’t want to promote the brand in the interest of drinking responsibly. That’s probably the most likely explanation, but come on, it’s a club. No one’s drinking responsibly, and airbrushing out everyone’s favourite drink isn’t going to make them start.

Whatever the reason, it’s happening. And it’s not right.
