These artists are making the whole of Leeds out of cake

Hyde Park would be the tastiest part

As part of Leeds Indie Food Festival, some artists are recreating Leeds out of cake. It’s all going to be edible and they’re giving it out for free.

The collaboration between The Gallery at Munro House, Tattooed Bakers and Leeds Indie Food Festival opens in the Trinity Centre on the 13th of May and will recreate “the buildings that give Leeds its unique culture” entirely out of cake.

They’re calling it immersive, but the most important thing is that it’s edible and free. The whole thing will be made from sponge cake and edible icing.

While the buildings themselves have yet to be announced, we know Roger Stevens in cake form would definitely look better than the real thing.

Nobody likes stale cake, and the installation is only open for a week – so this is something that you probably won’t want to leave until the last minute.

Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “The City of Cake is a fantastic project, and we’re very proud to work with these fantastic partners to support the amazing culture and creativity happening in our city. Leeds Indie Food Festival is set to be even bigger and better in May.
