Rape advocate Roosh V has organised a meet-up in Leeds

The location is being kept a secret

The “pick-up artist” Daryush Valizadeh, who goes by the name Roosh V, has organised a meet-up of followers in Leeds.

Roosh V is a “neo-masculinist” who believes that rape should be legal on private property.

According to Roosh V’s website, meet-ups will occur  in 43 countries, including UK cities such as Leeds, Manchester, and London.

The group has specifically banned all women, gay men, and transgender people from attending.

A counter-protest has been organised which states that all genders are welcome – but notes that Roosh V has issued threats against women who protest and have instructed his supporters to film them.

The meet-up was originally scheduled for Saturday evening in Millenium Square, Roosh has posted on his forum saying: “Based on the heat we have, we simply can’t let them know where we are meeting. That means it’s time to go underground.

“The Forum Is In A State Of Emergency: Extra rules apply during the worldwide attack against our international meetup day.”

He plans to have the most threatened meeting places first – which Leeds is one of. The new location will be secret and sent out via privately tomorrow.

Headingley Ward Councillor Jonathan Pryor has written to West Yorkshire police highlighting that the group encourages violence towards gay people, including uploading videos encouraging assault. He has also enquired what actions the police will be taken to keep the Leeds population safe, noting that “this is clearly a hate group”.

Regarding rape, Roosh V has previously said: “I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds.”

He also claims that women should be taught not to be raped instead of teaching men not to rape: “Consent is now achieved when she passes underneath the room’s door frame, because she knows that that man can legally do anything he wants to her when it comes to sex.

“If rape becomes legal under my proposal, a girl will protect her body in the same manner that she protects her purse and smartphone.”

Details of the new meet-up’s location are not yet clear.
