Nando’s opens cheeky new Headingley branch

It’s the SIXTH one in Leeds

Nando’s has finally answered the prayers of Headingley students and opened its newest branch in the heart of Beckett country.

For years, the Portuguese chicken mogul has insisted that the students of Headingley travel elsewhere to get their per-peri fix. But finally they’ve brought the good stuff closer to home.

Situated on the crossroads of Wood Lane and Otley Road behind Carphone Warehouse, Leeds’ sixth Nando’s is unfortunately one of the city’s smallest with only around 100 covers. But with one of the largest outside areas to make up for it and standard opening times of around 11.30am to 11pm everyday of the week, it actually feels more cosy than all the others.

Unlike all other Leeds branches, Headingley’s now has air conditioning. So for those that try to impress their date by ordering extra hot, you can now cool off all those sweat beads and tears so you don’t look like a wuss.

Impressed Philosophy third year and keen chicken enthusiast Roman Romeo said: “Even the toilets have lots of personality. You can actually smell the wood.”

There’s more good news for freshers too, as the new branch says they’ll return for Freshers Week this year.
