You comin’ up m8? Leeds gallery displays chewing gum art

Got any chuddy

Chewing gum is no longer just for late-night Flux sessions, as one Leeds gallery has decided to launch an exhibit of art made from the sticky substance.

Though most people at Leeds uni are only interested in chewing gum during the early hours at Canal Mills, the strange artwork will offer a new perspective on the gurn-friendly snack.

The odd artworks are being displayed on the floor and walls outside of the Human Nature exhibit at Munro House.

Aiming to highlight the impact of humanity on the environment, the chewing gum sculptures will be displayed alongside other thought-provoking pieces.

An artist

Munro House worker Ellie Andrews told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We’re excited about the opportunity to host a show whose message and ethos is demonstrated so cleverly by this diverse group of talented artists.

“We’re confident that this will encourage people to think again about how they interact with nature and their environment.”

Rumours of a ‘bottles of water and shades indoors’ exhibit remain unconfirmed.
