Weed plants found in drugs raid at Carr Mills

| UPDATED

This article has been amended to state that drugs were discovered in private accommodation, not student accommodation as had previously been stated. The Tab would like to apologise to Carr Mills for the misunderstanding.

Cannabis plants and growing equipment were seized after a bust at Carr Mills this week.

Police were tipped off after a resident was seen bringing suspicious items back to his room.

The drug growing operation was discovered after an inspection by residence staff at the private accommodation.

Carr Mills is a privately owned accommodation in near Woodhouse.

Suspected drug dealer Abel Miles, a non-student living in a private apartment on site, had been growing the plants in his bedroom. He has since disappeared.

A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect.”
