Leeds Slammed in Guardian Rankings
What do we have to do to get a little recognition round here?
Jack CummingsThe Guardian’s university guide has bashed Leeds, knocking us into 34th place.
This comes as a devastating blow after the Complete University Guide got our hopes up earlier this year.
In the survey, only our Engineering department was able to break into the top ten subjects, with Mechanical Engineering at number ten and Chemical Engineering doing us proud at 7th.
Even the subjects Leeds is traditionally good at were cruelly dropped this year, with English slipping to 24th and modern languages falling to 16th.
Somehow, the survey places us between two ex-polies, behind Coventry and only just ahead of Oxford Brookes.
We can always feel better by comparing ourselves to Leeds Met (or whatever they want to be called now) who slipped down to 112th place.
