Sale Sharks star was on his way to Dry Dock dressed in a Wizard of Oz theme

England hopeful Danny Cipriani was rushed to hospital last night after being hit by a double-decker bus outside Halo.

Danny and his Sale Sharks team mates all had their faces painted and were in fancy dress while on their way to Dry Dock, close to finishing an Otley Run.

He was treated for concussion on Woodhouse Lane and taken to hospital for more treatment.

An eyewitness reported that as a result of the incident, the whole of the bus’s front window was smashed.

Danny’s manager James Williamson told The Sun: “Danny’s spending the night in hospital. X-rays and scans will be carried out overnight.”

“He’s obviously in pain. He was running across the road and just misjudged the speed of the bus.”

The group of friends had adopted a ‘Wizard of Oz’ theme for the event, beginning at Woody’s just before 2pm, with Danny’s teammate Will Addison tweeting “And so it begins”.

Taking a casual pace, they were at the Packhorse five hours later and then shortly afterwards the accident occurred.
