Third year Sebastian Smith is within touching distance of bagging a job as a waterslide tester

| UPDATED

Have you ever dreamed of being paid to ride water slides around the world?

One student is making this a reality by reaching the last five in First Choice’s slide tester application.

Hopefully the slides will be better than this if he gets the job

Leeds student Sebastian Smith, 22, beat off more than 2000 other wannabes to reach the final shortlist.

If he wins, Sebastian will be paid £20,000 for six months ‘work’, travelling the world and riding water slides at SplashWorld resorts.

The Design and Colour Technology student said: “I was writing my dissertation and heard the advert on the radio. I ended up daydreaming about how incredible it would be to have that job after university.”

“The travel is a big attraction. I’ve always wanted to visit Europe and North Africa. Also all the water slides, of course.”

If Sebastian gets the job he might be able to sort us out with a water slide at The Edge.
