Car crashes into Vibe nightclub just two days before its grand opening

The yet-to-open nightclub is set to do so this Saturday

In the late hours of last night, 19th October, a car crashed into the front entrance of nightclub VIBE.

The nightclub has not yet opened and is set to have its grand opening this Saturday 22nd October, which it has sold all of its tickets for.

The car crashed into the doors opposite Dalton Square, shattering them and scattering glass shards into the road. The car is then reported to have driven away.

Police were at the scene in the early hours of this morning taking statements and attempting to sweep glass out of the road so that cars could pass through. The entrance to the nightclub was taped off due to the damage and investigation.

Lancashire Police told The Lancaster Tab nobody was injured in the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.

VIBE is situated in the former location of nightclub GLOW, which shut down in June of this year following an altercation that resulted in the death of  22-year-old Joshua Hughes.

The nightclub, which is scheduled to host several events next week including the launch of Skint Mondays and Bollynights’ Diwali Fest, has not yet announced whether the damage that the car accident caused will delay either of these events.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called shortly before 11.30pm yesterday to a report that a car had crashed into the building causing damage and had then driven off. No one was injured. Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log 1574 of Oct 19th.”

VIBE has been approached for comment.
