All the Instagram accounts Lancs students need to follow

From finding college news to rating dodgy dishes, there’s an account for everything

Whether it’s sharing the cute view from your room on campus or posting a camera roll dump of your sugar pics, Instagram is an essential platform for showing off your Lancs life. Along with finding out where people are from and what they’re studying, one of the major questions to ask your newfound peers is what their Instagram is. From keeping up to date with Sugarhouse events to reading the confessions of your fellow Lancs students, there really is an Instagram account for everything.

If you’re looking for more Lancs content to consume in your life, we’ve rounded up all the Instagram accounts to follow.

@Onlylancs

Lancaster’s biggest confessions page shares gossip from across the nine colleges and allows you to find out the deepest darkest secrets of your peers. Starting in December 2020, Onlylancs allows students to anonymously submit their wildest confessions via Google Doc for their fellow students to enjoy. Onlylancs quickly grew to fame amassing over six thousand followers with over six hundred posts to date.

From students finding out their boyfriend was cheating on them via BeReal, to people sharing their flatmate and one-night stand horror stories, whatever you can think of, it’s probably been confessed.

@Bean_the_duck

Every Lancaster student will know just iconic the ducks are, and how obsessed students are with them.

Starting as a fun way to show students around Lancaster in 2020, Bean posts photos of himself enjoying iconic locations in Lancs such as Williamson Park or events such as the Roses. Bean gained popularity quickly with and has been seen snapping pics all over campus and collaborating societies

The self-proclaimed “number one guide to Lancaster”, the webbed footed icon provides information on societies and events in Lancaster for students to keep up to date with.

@Lancsyuckorfuck

One of the exciting things about living away from home on top of the obvious independence is getting to cook for yourself. We’ve all been there where we’ve promised ourselves that this year will be different and we’ll finally cook healthy but by week three it’s back to pot noodles and smiley faces.

However, if you thought your cooking was bad then wait till you see Lancs Yuck of Fuck. From beautiful spaghetti bolognese to what appears to be some penne pasta wrapped in cheese and mayo, this account will both amaze and disgust you. Whether you use this account for inspiration, or to make yourself feel better about your cooking abilities, this account has it all.

@Lancsantisociety

In a post called “What is anti-society?” the group calls itself a “comfortable and welcoming” society which includes everyone in its decision-making. The page developed into a helpful source for students to find helpful information, advice about town or campus and plans to set up Freshers’-style events to allow students to get involved within the University.

Beginning in May 2022, the page posts content advice for students as well as fun content such as types of students on a night out so there’s something for everyone

Whether you locked eyes with someone on the 100 bus or you pine after that person who sits in front of you in your 9am then Lancs Crush is the place for you to confess it. Lancs Crush allows you to anonymously tell the world who has your heart right now and even more fun is scrolling along the account wondering if any of the posts are about yourself (could you be the cute person in the spar queue?).

@93clublancaster

The 93% Club is the first and largest state-educated network in the country. The Lancaster branch aims to create events, networking activities, campaigns and work with top graduate employers to upskill and empower state students. The social media raises awareness and posts reminders about the events which Lancaster students can attend.
