LUSU VP Societies and Media election result announced
RON has won in the student election
RON has won the VP Societies and Media election.
Lancaster University Students Union announced the winner of the election on their Instagram earlier today.
1254 votes were counted, with the quota for a role to be fulfilled 627 votes.
Dom Casoria (he/him) received 603 votes, whilst Re-open Nominations received 651 votes.
Since RON met the quota and Dom did not, this means that nominations for this election will be opened again at a later date.
Dom has been the VP Societies and Media officer this past academic year, 2021/22.
One of Dom’s most notable achievements from his run is hosting the Society Awards in February.
Lancaster University Student’s Union states on their website regarding the role: “The Vice-President (Societies and Media) represents students in our societies and colleges and the work of media organisations associated or affiliated with the union”.
LUSU are yet to confirm when the nominations will reopen.
