Women+ Forum to host Vigil of Remembrance for those lost to misogyny-based violence

The vigil will be hosted at the Chaplaincy Centre at six pm on Thursday 24th of February

The Lancaster University Women+ Forum are hosting a Vigil of Remembrance to honour lives lost to misogyny-based violence at 6pm on Thursday the 24th February at the Chaplaincy Centre on Lancaster University’s campus.

The event has been organised in a collaboration between the forum and the Chaplaincy Centre.

It was announced via the @luwomenplus on Instagram.

The vigil is to specifically remember those lost after 2020 to misogyny-based violence.

The group, who describe themselves as “a safe-space for women and non-binary staff and students at Lancaster University”, cited the hardship of ‘”Not being able to gather, remember, and speak on these losses” as a reason to gather to remember the lives lost.

Their post states “If you wish to prepare something to say, or only wish to listen, we welcome you to the vigil at six pm at the Chaplaincy Centre.”
