In July, the Government announced the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Most people will know how it works, but if you’ve been living under a rock the basic premise is that participants will offer 50 per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks with maximum of £10 off, Monday through to Wednesday each week in August. Not everywhere will be taking part, so we’ve compiled some of the best deals in the best loved Lancaster locations.

Many of the big chains are participating, including the likes of McDonalds and Starbucks, but why not support some of the local cafes and restaurants in Lancaster? Here are our top picks of the places offering discounts in Lancaster this August, but the extensive list can be found on the government website here.

Mad Hunter

With the offer, Mad Hunter will be open seven days a week and offering up to £1o off per diner Monday through to Wednesday. If you’re after something a little fancier, this might be the deal for you!

The Sun Hotel and Bar

The Sun Hotel and Bar are running the offer on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August. The 50 per cent off applies to their breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks, supper and soft drinks.

Bucelli’s Italian Cafe

If you haven’t tried Bucellis yet, it is an Italian cafe serving traditional coffee, cake and paninis by day, and an osteria by night. The offer is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on all food and non-alcoholic drinks up to £10.

Holm Coffee

Holm is a new Scandinavian cafe in Lancaster, serving open sandwiches, pastries and cakes, alongside coffee, tea and cold brews. Holm are taking part in the government scheme and will be offering 50 per cent off Monday-Wednesday up to £10.

Cafe Dolci

Cafe Dolci is another relatively new cafe in Lancaster, serving a variety of global food and drinks throughout the day. With the scheme, they are offering 50% off all food and non-alcoholic drink Monday-Wednesday, including their afternoon teas!

Casa Rastelli

Casa Rastelli is a family run, Italian-style cafe in Lancaster. With the deal they will be serving up homemade cakes, fresh deli items, ice cream sundaes, Italian dishes and so much more.

Journey Social

Journey Social will be open for the deal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as they are not yet open seven days a week. Pop in to get your hands on your fav brunch with 50 per cent off.

Vincenzo’s Coffee House

Vincenzo’s is another Lancaster cafe taking part in the deal. Drop in Monday-Wednesday to receive 50 per cent off brunch, hot chocolates and so much more.

Cornish Bakery

The Cornish Bakery are participating, with 50 per cent off food and drink Monday-Wednesday. The offer applies only to customers who are eating in, booking is recommended but not essential.

Whale Tail Cafe

Whale Tail is the place for all things veggie and vegan in Lancaster, and they’re participating in the scheme as well!

Sultans

Everyone’s campus favourite is participating in the deal. You mightn’t be able to pop in after a night out, but you can still get the cheesy chips you crave with 50 per cent off.

Join Brew for 50 per cent off Monday-Wednesday as they run their brand new menu for August, including Pimms pancakes!

Toll House Inn

Toll House Inn are taking part in the scheme, serving up classy British pub grub with 50 per cent off on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Water Witch

Booking is essential with the Water Witch’s deal. Enjoy 50 per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks Monday through to Wednesday with views of the Lancaster canal!

The White Cross Pub

At the White Cross, when you spend £20 you get £10 off Monday-Wednesday, they will even be throwing in a free drink. If you spend £40 you will get £20 off and a free bottle of house wine! With such a good deal they recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Cappuvino

The bar and coffee roasters, Cappuvino, are taking part in the scheme on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. At Cappuvino you can enjoy 50% off coffee, cake, charcuterie boards and so much more.
