Lorry explodes into a fireball near the Woodland trail

The driver escaped unhurt


A lorry has exploded behind the Woodland trail on the M6 but the driver has been confirmed as okay.

BBC Travel News has advised to not attempt driving southbound from Junction 34, labelling the journey as involving a “SEVERE” incident.

A fireman on the scene told The Tab the driver was reportedly okay.

Second year medical student Kareem Pabani gave us his reaction to the news: “I just hope nobody got hurt, it looks pretty bad.”

Lots of students have been having similar thoughts, taking to Yikyak to express their concern. Some can even see it from University Halls, watching as the chaos ensues.

It’s not yet known what has caused the fire.
