A list of everything King’s is doing for sustainability week

It’s pretty well known that sustainability is a hugely important matter nowadays.

From the 10th to 14th of February King’s are putting on a selection of workshops, discussions and events with a sustainability theme.

This annual sustainability week aims to educate and empower people to make small changes in their lives that will have a big impact on the environment.

We've gathered a list of all the sustainable events taking place this week.

Charity Book Sale

Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th Feb

Swap shop

The Studio, Bush House (SE), 10am-10pm

Aiming to tackle the growing environmental impact of fast fashion, this clothes swap is a fun and sustainable way to recycle your old clothes and get a whole new wardrobe completely for free!

Tuesday 11th Feb

Valentines charity bake sale

Central Hall, St Thomas’ Hospital, 12:00-16:00

Pop down to St Thomas’ to eat some delicious cake while helping to raise money for the charity Toilet Twinning and fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water and learn about hygiene.

Hear from King’s researchers, Extinction Rebellion Representatives and zero-waste shop staff members on how changing your habits can have a positive impact in overwhelming times of climate crisis.

The Lost Girl: Artist Tour

Waves for Change (S.Africa): Can't Steal Our Vibe film & workshop

Harris Lecture Theatre, Hodgkin Building, Guy’s Campus, 15:00-17:00

Join the charity Waves for Change, KCL Surf Soc and King’s Sustainability for a film screening of ‘Can’t Steal Our Vibe’ and a short workshop on the links between well-being and the natural environment.

Charity Fashion Show by KCL Fashion Soc

The Great Hall, King's Building, Strand, 19:00-21:30

This year's theme is HOUSE OF VISION and the show showcases looks from students, recent graduates and young brands. Ticket's range from £7-£13 and all profits will go to the British Fashion Council Fashion Trust and Environmental Justice Foundation.
