A terror suspect arrested by armed police was on his was to King’s last summer – but narrowly missed the grades.

Tarik Hassane, 21, was one of four men arrested during armed raids in London on Tuesday.

And yesterday the uni revealed Hassane – nicknamed “the surgeon” by friends – had an offer to study medicine at King’s, but messed up his A-Levels.

Tarik Hassane ended up studying in Sudan

A spokesperson from King’s told The Tab: “Tarik Hassane applied to King’s in 2013 for a place on a Medical programme and a Pharmacy programme.

“Following our standard selection process, he was made a conditional offer for both but did not achieve the required grades for either.”

Hours before his arrest, Hassane tweeted that he had flown into the country, adding: “Oi lads… I smell war”.

The student, who eventually decided to study in Sudan, could potentially be held without charge and questioned for up to 14 days.
