Champion Hill officers ban freshers from using their kitchens after 10pm

Fuming freshers weren’t allowed to make a bedtime brew

Angry freshers living in Champion Hill have lashed out against halls officers after they were BANNED from using their kitchens after 10pm.

Joyless residence bosses slapped freshers with a late night kitchen ban in freshers’ week when neighbours complained about excessive noise.

Now, students living in the plush £182 per week halls near Denmark Hill campus, are speaking out about the residence office’s iron first, saying it put a “total downer on their freshers’ week.”

Residents weren’t allowed to step foot in the state of the art kitchens after 10pm

Brand new Champion Hill

It’s supposed to be one of the best weeks of your life, but halls bosses caused a stir among Champion Hill freshers when they were confined to their bedrooms during freshers’ week.

The kitchen ban, which lasted the entire week, meant hungry students were not allowed to enter their plush communal kitchens after 1opm.

In a snappy email from the building manager, residents were told their kitchen would “not be available” after from 10pm Monday to Sunday.

But, when students tried to negotiate with the residence office, their concerns were ignored, with some incensed students saying they were “made to feel bad” for raising the issue.

The ban has since been lifted, but now angry students are speaking out about the ordeal.
