A good night out in Liverpool always ends in Popworld

What do you really think of it?

Liverpool is known for its cheesy songs which cause impromptu singing, manic dancing and the occasional conga line. Many hold the club which epitomises this – Popworld – close to their heart: if you haven’t gone to Popworld, then have you really been out at all? But what do you really think of the Hanover Street haunt, famed for its free toast and absolute bangers?

Matt Southy, first year Policing Studies

“I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot bargepole. Disney, cheesy music…I’ve never even been.”

A night to remember

Emily Griffiths, first year Journalism

“Popworld is fabulously cheesy but to be honest, I’d hate it sober.”

Blaise Jones, first year Media Productions

“I’ve never entered Popworld sober. It’s not a place you go sober.”

The screen in Popworld adds entertainment…

Adam Leighton, first year Media Productions

“I personally think it’s one of the best clubs in Liverpool. The drinks are a bit pricey but if you pre-drink well then you’re going to save some pennies. Just don’t start doing pull-ups in there.”
