There’s a protest on Thursday against Milo Yiannopoulos running for Rector

There are over 600 people ‘attending’

The hullaballoo surrounding the candidature of Milo Yiannopoulos for Glasgow University has peaked this week with a protest being organised in uproar.

The extremist candidate, known for his outspoken and intolerant stance has been a hot topic of conversation over the last few weeks after announcing that would be running for the prestigious position.

Yiannopoulos is famous for his discriminating comments about women, LGBT parents, Islam and transgender people.

The Facebook event for the protest has already garnered attention from over 600 people and the event is sure to be well attended.

The organisers of the event call Yiannopoulos out for using his public persona to make these discriminatory comments and encourage people to vote for a different candidate and not to boycott the election altogether.

The protest will take place on the Thursday 16th March from one o’clock outside the University library. Click here to see the details of the event on Facebook.
