Temperatures are forecast to plummet to minus five degrees tonight, meaning snow could be on the cards tomorrow for Glasgow.

Prepare to wake up to rain, sleet and then finally snow. Fish out your hats, gloves, scarves, sledges, lemsip and your Gran’s knitted jumper – winter is coming.

The Met Office states that there may be “significant snowfall possible by the end of the day, particularly in higher areas” with a maximum temperature of four degrees.

Glasgow is infamous for its cold weather and recently students have been freezing in their cold West End flats.

Brace yourselves, the thermometer is out

Some people will be ecstatic at the news of snow, but for others this means illness, the shock realisation when you remember you haven’t bought any winter clothes yet, and of course the dreaded slush that accumulates on the pavements after a night of snowfall.
