Uni have closed the Stevenson Building sports hall because of slippery floors

There was a petition set up for it

The Stevenson Building sports hall has been temporarily closed because of it’s floors.

Women’s basketball president Lucie Wollenstein started a petition to refurbish the floor of the new sports hall in the Stevenson building.

Wollenstein’s petition said that basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton players have also got hurt.

Though a slip test was performed on the new floors, the outcome is still less than satisfactory.

A University of Glasgow spokesman said: “We have had to temporarily close the sports hall due to some ongoing issues with the surface. We are in close contact with suppliers and the installers and would hope to have the facility open again soon.

“We would stress that the sports facilities elsewhere in the building, including the new cardiovascular and muscle conditioning suites are open as normal”.
