Anti Roosh V petition gets over 40,000 signatures in a day

People are not happy

Over 40,000 people have signed a petition against pro-rape “pick up artist” Roosh V.

The petition was set up yesterday, and plans to to ban his visit on the 6th February.

The protest has already gained 43,189 signatures out of a target of 45,000.

Created by Cat Boyd, this is one of the petitions being sent to the Scottish Government to “stop RooshV being allowed to promote his hateful violent views in our cities”.

It says: “Promoting rape is hate speech, and should be treated as such.”

Some of those signing have shared their reasons for opposing Roosh V, one woman wrote: “Anyone who promotes rape is encouraging people to break the law. This should be stopped for obvious reasons. Why have the police not done something about this?”

A “Glaswegians Against Roosh V”page has also been set up on Facebook, promising to demonstrate against Roosh V’s supporters as they gather in George Square on Saturday. It already has 2.6k interested.
