Glasgow hosts a marathon where you drink wine instead of water at stops

It’s called ‘Wineatholon’

In true Scottish style, Glasgow is hosting a running event that might actually make you want to run, because there’s wine.

The so-called Wineatholon is going to be held on the 24th of September 2016 and in order to numb the awful pain of exercise, runners will be offered wine to keep them hydrated, or drunk, whichever you prefer.

The event has already been hosted south of the border in Yorkshire and Huddersfield, where the event was a huge success with over 3000 people joining in to an event that would finally make running fun.

Pure buzzing for this wineatholon

The route is described as an “easy trail” and the end you can buy some bottles of the wine for as little as £7.50.

There will be prizes for first, second and third as well as best dressed.

Sprinting for that next stop

But places are limited. Wane Law, Managing Director of TeamOA, said: “We are capping entries at 600 this year to ensure we can run a safe event and it means people will be desperate to take part next year.”

So if you want to enter an event that makes running sound appealing, follow the link below and sign up. Go on wine-ot?
