Do you have a Glasgow Uni accent?

But like, it’s such good chat?

| UPDATED

The popularity of a certain Kevin Bridges video has grown in the last year describing the “Glasgow accent”.

And it’s seen a rise in hate for us Gtown students, we almost choked on our skinny soy double mocha lattes when we found out.

We’re glad you asked, Artemis

The accent has been described as having a few major characteristics, including inflection at the end of sentences, outrageous overuse of the word ‘like’, and a general aura of superiority.

But, like, we don’t all talk like that?

Nobody’s really sure where this accent has come from, but most chalk it up to the “student hipster population” and the Glasgow students’ exposure to the more “upper class” part of town.

So if you start to find yourself crying because there are no free tables at the Bike Shop, or Tesco have sold out of your fav rosé wine, you should check yourself before you wreck yourself – you may be on your way to that West End drawl.

Bit severe mate

We still think Glasgow is like hashtag totes amaze anyway.
