Girl rushed to hospital after collapsing in Bamboo

Two ambulances were called to the club

A student collapsed in Bamboo and was rushed to hospital on Wednesday night.

An ambulance was called at 1:30am.

But the crew requested back-up when they arrived. The ambulance service said: “The initial ambulance crew was on scene and then they requested a second ambulance because the patient was downstairs in the toilets.”

Bouncers were quickly called downstairs to stop women entering the bathroom. One witness said: “Someone was definitely wheeled out and we thought they were in a body bag.

“I remember a bouncer standing outside the girls toilet refusing to let people in so we thought maybe someone had passed out in there.

“My friend definitely saw a hand with bracelets sticking out the side.

“The girl was covered with a sheet and then got put in an ambulance outside still all covered up. Her face was covered too.”

The ambulance service said that “nothing about a body bag was included in the report”.

And despite the rumour flying about campus Strathclyde Police confirmed no one died at Bamboo.
