Father and daughter share their graduation together at the University of Exeter
Abdallah Alharbi and Alhanof Alharbi celebrate their degrees on the same day
Father and daughter, Abdallah Alharbi and Alhanof Alharbi, celebrated their graduation from the University of Exeter on the same day.
Whilst her father was studying for a PhD in education, Alhanof studied for her BA in communications, before graduating together on July 16th
During their studies, Abdallah and Alhanof said they “enjoyed spending time” together on Exeter’s campus – Alhanof even commented that she was not embarrassed about seeing her dad around campus.
Both Abdallah and Alhanof graduated from the University of Exeter on Tuesday, 16th July 2024 in different ceremonies.
Alhanof claimed she was “inspired” to pursue her degree at the University of Exeter after seeing her dad work towards his PhD. Their family moved from Saudi Arabia to Exeter in order for Abdallah (and, now, Alhanof) to study.
Both Abdullah and Alhanof said how they enjoyed experiencing a “new culture”, making new friends and exploring Exeter’s countryside and beaches. They plan to visit Exeter each summer as the place has become their “second home”.
Although the family have moved back to Saudi Arabia, Alhanof hopes to continue her studies by pursuing a MA in Communications next year.
