Celebrate Exeter Pride 2016

Put down those revision books and come show your support


This year Exeter pride takes place on the 7th of May 2016.

Pride is a national annual celebration that takes place around the United Kingdom where many celebrate the LGBTQ+ communities and diversity.

The forum will have a massive rainbow flag too

Many different events will be on throughout the day to which everyone can attend.

You can start off by listening on radio to the Pride Show 2016 on 106.8fm.

There is then a Matins service at 9:30am at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels.

The parade, which features the famous 50m rainbow flag beings at 12 starting at St Sidwell’s Centre, Sidwell Street and anyone can take part and show support.

Many events are also taking place at the Phoenix throughout the day beginning at 1pm, including workshops, a drumming circle, family events, a youth space, a trans space and a panel debate.

In Rougemont Gardens there will be more than 30 local businesses and pride supporters with activities and information about Pride. There will also be loads of food stalls.

There is also evening entertainments with local acts, and bands. However you do need to purchase a wristband welcome pack to be able to go to this, but all the events taking place in the day are free.

This will be Pride’s 8th year in Exeter so let’s make it a good one and celebrate the diversity of Exeter!
