David Cameron snubbed his own young Tories at Exeter
Ouch
David Cameron, the Conservative leader, forgot to invite young Tories to his speech at Exeter uni today.
It is unknown why David decided to host the talk outside of term time, perhaps to avoid the angry Socialist or Feminist societies disrupting his talk.
The main topic of the conversation was the EU referendum, but one privileged invitee Peter Gillibrand asked a question about the British steel industry, a particularly hot topic for the prime minister at the moment.
This particular line of questioning led to David saying that he won’t bail out any steel industries.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the event was the Exeter University Conservative Association not receiving an invitation to the talk, they are known to have been annoyed about the snub.
We contacted the society president for a comment, but he did not respond.
Big Dave also said he enjoys watching Glastonbury by a roaring fire. He also failed to wave hello to the crowds as he turned up.
Sarah Schnieder, the President of Strategic Action for Refugees at Exeter uni, who was turned away, said: “This entire process has been deceiving the entire purpose of what this event is supposed to be. In reality its angering students and making students most likely to not turn up and vote to stay in the EU. Its disengaging students who want to engage with someone who’s supposed to be their leader.”
