Seagull sees red and smashes through Princesshay shop roof

He’ll be attending a herring

A loutish seagull forced the Exeter Reiss store in Princesshay shopping centre to close after it stoned the glass roof above the entrance on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Princesshay maintenance team said “On Sunday afternoon between 2-3pm a seagull dropped a stone on the glass pane above the entrance door. Male seagulls are known to drop heaving items as a way of “showing off” in front of female seagulls.”

The store was closed from when the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon till midday on Monday due to it being described as “too dangerous” to open while maintenance staff carried out repairs.
