Edinburgh Fives has been derailed

He didn’t have a railcard and got kicked off

Edinburgh Fives fresher Ali Reid has had his journey severely delayed.

The unfortunate fresher has been held up for so long he hasn’t arrived in Edinburgh yet and his return leg has already left.

Initial fears were that Storm Desmond would inhibit the northern parts of the journey but it was actually Reid’s own blunder that led to the most significant delay.

He doesn’t have a railcard and was kicked off the train and forced to buy a new ticket.

The mistake has led to accusations of “faffing” coming from several parties involved in the Edi Fives saga.

Ali missed his connection as a result and was not due into Edinburgh until one on Saturday morning.

His journey was further plighted by a problem with the line.

However, by some miracle, the train began to move again and Reid is convinced he will arrive in Edinburgh today.

He will leave immediately to go back to Exeter however, because term has ended, Reid will have less than 10 hours in Exeter before he leaves to travel back to his family home – in Edinburgh.
