The Co-op on Pennsylvania Road is going to close

Where will we buy tzatziki from now?

The Co-operative on Pennsylvania road will be closing for three weeks.

The closure will come into effect as of Saturday 7th November due to “essential maintenance” work being carried out on the store.

The store is something of a lifeline for those living nearby – the closure means in particular residents of Pennsylvania Road, Powderham Crescent, Longbrook Street area, will be forced to go elsewhere for pre-drinks supplies, lecture provisions and hangover cures.

Until the new and hopefully improved store is revealed on Saturday 28th November, the store has put up notices advising customers that the nearest Co-op branch is just round the corner (uphill) on Sidwell Street, approximately 0.3 miles away.

Second year Biologist Joe said “I would rather lose my left arm, it’s less vital to my wellbeing.”

Drama third year Lizzie said: “I’m surprised they’re shutting during term time, they obviously make so much money from students.’
