Giant charity waterslide coming to Fore Street

Better than sliding into bae’s DMs

This September Exeter will see an extraordinary 300ft long waterslide run the length of Fore Street.

330 Thrill-seekers will get the opportunity to take the plunge.

Exeter’s Deaf Academy have organised the slippy experience, which is open to anyone and everyone via an online ballot, and a steal at only £2 entry.

What Fore Street looks like on Google Maps

Constructed out of huge sheets of tarpaulin, hay bales and giant foam mats the temporary slide is inspired by an art installation by Luke Jerram.

Riders will shoot down at high speed, lubed smooth with organic washing up liquid.

Similar slides have cropped up across the country over the past year, Bristol grabbed headlines with their Park and Slide last summer.

Bristol’s slide was a hit, but our’s will be better.

The Express and Echo have posited 5/1 odds for getting in on the action, so budding slidees do have a decent shot at getting a go.

Even if you don’t get one of the much-coveted places, all the proceeds will go to charity.

You can enter online at www.exeterstreetslide.co.uk or by texting the word SLIDE followed by your full name to 70660 (£2 a text) by 17th August.
