Local man attacked with barbell in Exmouth McDonald’s car park

Do you even lift, bro?

A court has heard how “macho posturing” led to a violent barbell attack.

Carpenter Jordan Hebburn and “Cardiff Mafia” thug Samuel Garland came to blows at a McDonald’s car park in Exmouth, resulting in Mr Garland being struck with a barbell.

Last week the two squared up to one another for a long time, with their posturing coming to a climax after a cheeky Big Mac meal.

Mr Garland sustained serious injuries to his head after the attack, which occurred whilst he was looking into his boot.

Mr Hebburn has since admitted inflicting Actual Bodily Harm after the injuries proved less severe than originally thought, quashing the original Grievous Bodily Harm charge.

He is awaiting a sentence from Judge Francis Gilbert QC.

The brutal barbell bludgeoning is claimed to be preemptive by Mr Hebburn, fearing an attack by Mr Garland who allegedly reached for a length of chain from his boot.

A length of chain was later recovered on the other side of the car park.

The defence highlighted that Mr Garland had a long history of violent behaviour and then presented the court with a selection of Facebook printouts that showed him and his gang brandishing baseball bats.
