Searching for something to do on Saturday night? Look no further: The Tobacco House opens this weekend on Exeter Quay.

The 550-capacity venue, which has been known as Havana, then Thirst, has been rebooted as the Tobacco House, which will have an emphasis on live music and entertainment.

Acts already confirmed are Glitter Band, Stillyano, the Dreamboys, Carnivala!, the Scribes, and Vince Freeman, from BBC1’s The Voice.

The hottest night will be every Thursday, which is appropriately named ‘Smokey Thursdays’ due to the fact that the building used to be a tobacco factory, and will feature the best of Exeter’s acoustic acts.

Every second Sunday of the month, the venue will host an African music night coupled with an African menu in the restaurant.

Bradley Smith, entertainment manager, said: “We felt that Exeter needed a really decent large capacity live music venue that attracts bigger name acts to the city, but is also committed to promoting the cream of local talent.”
