• With a £10 prize, Reindeer Rodeo made an appearance.
• Big Band, Choral Society and Acapella Society all performed.
• Throughout November, RAG raised £10,000 for Movember.

Exeter University was brought to life yesterday (3rd December), despite the cold weather.

The campus was full of festivity, all thanks to RAG’s Christmas Market.

The market, which ran from 11-4, oozed festive entertainment.

The main focus was on the Reindeer Rodeo, which entertained the crowd and the brave participants, who were holding on for both their lives and – more importantly – the £10 prize.

Students were treated to performances from Big Band, Choral Society and Acapella Society, with snow machines in the background making students long for the Christmas break to come sooner.

The piazza was full of stalls, from fresh food and cake to alcohol and crafts.

Jack Sheeran, first year politics student, said: “The selection of stalls was great. I had a lush lunch by buying things from all the different stalls.

‘The buckaroo reindeer was brilliant, it was hilarious seeing my friends make fools of themselves.”

Henry Bowles (President) and Emma White (Event Manager), informed me that RAG’s events “all raise money for four nominated charities, which are elected at the beginning of every year.”

This year’s charities are Community Action, Devon Freewheelers, Rainbow Trust and Concern Universal.

So far this year, RAG has gone from strength to strength.

During Fresher’s Week RAG proved popular when 600+ new members signed up.

The society also contributed towards the University, raising a mind-blowing £10,000 during Movember.

Emma said that the main projects this year are “climbing Kilimanjaro and the gorilla Trek, which we’re doing in Uganda.”

RAG’s success, it seems, won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
