Situated near St. Thomas Station, Charlie’s Live Lounge, a club for over-25 year olds, is set to open in Exeter.

Exeter-based businesswoman Rebecca Weaver is the person behind the project, which has taken just six weeks to complete.

“The majority of clubs in Exeter are aimed at students,” Rebecca said in response to why she decided to open the venue.

Charlie’s – the new spot for Exeter’s non-student population?

“I wanted to be able to enjoy a sophisticated night out with my like-minded friends without the rowdiness of a younger crowd which often ensues because of an irresponsibility towards alcohol intake.”

Due to open on Friday 8th November, Charlie’s Live Lounge, previously a Chinese restaurant, will rival Timepiece Wednesdays with its own ‘Wine Wednesdays’.

“My aim,” Rebecca said, “is to make Charlies (sic) the ultimate meeting place and entertainment destination for the city.”
