Exeter resident Christopher Perry, 69, was yesterday sentenced to 14 years in jail for committing “one of the most serious sexual offences” Judge Francis Gilbert “had ever come across”.

After a woman found drunk-driving claimed “she was drunk to excess because of the abuse she had suffered,” Police launched an investigation which then led to two further women confessing they had been abused (when aged between four and sixteen) by the same man.

Christopher Perry, a sexual abuser for the past 27 years.

Catching wind of the investigation, Perry claimed a sudden loss of memory. However, unfortunately for him, “The psychologist’s clinical view was that he had nothing wrong with his memory and was trying to use it as a defence against these allegations.”

Perry was forced to plead guilty to the 12 counts of sexual offences – resulting in both the prison time, and a ban from contact with any children in the future.
