Poor-dwalk Empire

Archie Lockwood is back, going for the jugular of the Grad Ball ticket furore.

I awoke on Friday morning to find my Facebook page awash with links to buy tickets for the graduation ball; naturally I immediately grabbed the Amex and bought a couple – Diamond of course.

I then settled back into bed and watched the predictable liberal socialist uproar arise preaching about prices and equality.

I mean, come on. After having to sit through a load of left wing drivel concerning the death of Margaret Thatcher I felt inclined to just give a few thoughts on the matter.

I think the prices are totally fair and are reflective on the calibre of person we want attending this ball. If you can’t afford to go then maybe a ‘Ball’ isn’t the place for you and you’d be better suited buying some bottles of cider and sitting in a park.

Also I’m perplexed at this grievance that the tickets have been released before the student loans come in, with one student complaining that the ubiquitous “Daddy” will pay for all our tickets.

Back in the 20s, only the monied went to balls. A greater time.

For starters it’s a bloody joke that my parents had to pay loads of money, sending me to a really good school so that I could get into a decent University and yet some people here didn’t have to pay a penny and are still at this University.

Then they have the bloody cheek to complain that prices are too high! They should be bloody grateful that due to some socialist sense of ‘equality’ they’ve been allowed to better themselves at this University after having paid nothing for their education up until now. I think that £55 is a rather paltry sum to pay considering the amount that some of us have had to pay to get to the same level.

I personally think that they should make the prices higher – that would certainly separate the wheat from the chaff. I mean this is a BALL after all and already I’m dreading to think what sort of person is going to be attending on the £35 ‘entry only’ ticket band.

They will have no sense of Ball etiquette and sadly will give out the wrong image of the sort of person that attends our University.

Gatsby…that bugger knew how to throw a party. Invite only.

I believe that the recently deceased Mrs. Thatcher had it right when she said ‘If you can’t stand on your own two feet…’, I can’t remember the rest of the quote but it was something to do with scroungers, immigrants and communists…probably.

I’m just waiting for some group of liberals to complain about the theme, saying that it’s insulting to women because they couldn’t breast feed in public at this time or something of that equal politically correct, boring, lefty, bullshit.

Basically I think the University should grow a backbone and stick up for the upper class students for once, I’m sick of this discrimination against the privileged.

If you can’t afford to go, then you don’t deserve to go. Simple as.
