Student Street Cracks Up

Crack cocaine and naked men: It seems quiet student street, Haldon Road, is turning into a bit of a mad one.

| UPDATED

In January, The Tab reported that a naked bloke was swinging in the trees, but this week Haldon Road saw something that could’ve come straight off The Bill.

A potential drug dealer was arrested for possession of Diamorphine and crack cocaine, with the intent to supply. One further arrest was made.

One student resident saw the action unfold: “I saw an undercover cop chase two men down the street. He shouted ‘police, stop!’ at them.

“I thought it was three guys fooling around, then he caught up to one but the other got away. He put blue gloves on and looked like he was searching him so I’m thinking maybe it was drug related?

“As the police car drove away, I saw a woman in the backseat,” the student added.

Devon and Cornwall Police have released the following information:

“This was a stop check of a 30 year old man in the street. He was street bailed to re-appear at the police station for interview.

Search of a house nearby as a result of the first arrest led to an arrest of a 33 year old woman from London. She has been charged with possession of Diamorphine and possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply.”

The incident occurred on Thursday 27 March at approximately 2.50pm.

The Tab can confirm no students were involved.
