Exeter Snubbed By The Times

The Times has released its global uni league table, and there’s bad news: Exeter doesn’t even feature. 

But thankfully, it’s not quite as embarassing as it sounds.

The Times Higher Education Supplement’s annual World Reputation Rankings – a spin-off of the World University Rankings – is based on reputation among scholars, not results. In other words, uni big dogs colate their personal opinions, rather than considering official world rankings.

We didn’t want to be on this shitlist anyway

Oxford and Cambridge were the only UK unis to make the top ten, and were placed third and fourth respectively.

Adding insult to injury, even Manchester and Edinburgh made the top 100 instead of us.

We just weren’t good enough

Rankings editor Phil Baty is notably concerned. “Outside the chosen few there is cause for alarm,” he said.

“There is some good news for the UK, but only for a handful of its elite institutions.”

It’s a sad day, Exeter. We’ve been snubbed by uni boffins.
