MP let loose in the lab

Benny Bradshaw on campus in MP-scientist partnership.

| UPDATED Ben Bradshaw MP science

Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw donned his rubber gloves and grabbed a microscope for the MP-Scientist partnership organised by The Royal Society (UK’s national academy of science).

Ben was pretty pleased about the visit

Mr Bradshaw tried his hand at being a scientist for the day whilst Exeter physicist Dr Annette Plaut spent a week playing politics. The switcheroo is designed to provide both sides with greater insight into how politics and science effect one another.

“The few hours spent with Annette at the physics department were really inspirational. The potential of the research undertaken there to change the way we live and impact policy making is enormous. I was very impressed by the dedication of the students and researchers. I was reminded how vital the relationship is between science and policy making.” Wise words, Mr Bradshaw.

Perhaps a student-MP partnership should be set up so we can get cheaper booze again!
