Lemmy Goes Mad for Mali

Don’t miss out on ‘Exeter’s answer to live aid’

| UPDATED Lemmy Mali Unicef

If you’re tired of campaigners patrolling the campus like wolves, or sick of having little pieces of paper shoved in your face as you innocently navigate your way to lectures, perhaps it’s time to turn your mind to a different kind of politics.

On Thursday the Lemmy will be opening its doors (and bar) for a night of live music in what’s being billed as ‘Exeter’s answer to Live Aid’.

The event, ‘Making Music for Mali’, aims to raise awareness of the country’s recent unrest and of the severe hunger crisis that has affected many West-African countries. The UNICEF on Campus society particularly supports the fight to save African children’s lives and hopes a night of good-will and good music will get people thinking, talking and championing their cause.

Tickets are available for £4 from the Guild Info Point (second floor of the Forum, by the back of the Ram), or on the door. The event kicks off at 7.30pm and promises to be jam-packed with musical marvels.

Bob Geldof salutes you.
