Arena have had a number of complaints from people who have been unable to purchase online advance tickets but have still been charged.

A statement was released on the nightclub’s Facebook page on Wednesday 5 December.

It said: “This is due to Barclays increasing their security around card payments due to an increase in fraudulent payments coming up to Christmas.”

The statement also reminded customers to make sure the address entered online matches the billing address of the payment card used.

The club informed customers that “the money is automatically refunded within 48 hours” and apologised for the inconvenience.

Arena refused to make further comment, other than to tell The Tab to check their website which has no information on it regarding the matter.
