Missed out on a ticket to this year’s SSB? Well don’t sit on there on your tod crying about it. There’s an Original Sin night to keep you entertained.

The Bear Back Ball promises both a night of both Arena-based debauchery and worthwhile charitable fundraising.

Happily, 25p from each ticket will go to the Free the Bears Fund, a charity that aims to rescue bears in Vietnam and Laos.

Bears are farmed for their bile, which is used in traditional medicine. To date, Free the Bears have rescued over 500 of our furry friends.

Nick Jackson, Original Sin founder, said: “This year the ticket allocation for the SSB has decreased, but there’s an Original Sin night for students who missed out. Obviously you can come dressed down, but we want to see people in bear outfits. We’re hoping to raise some serious money for bears worldwide.”

The Tab says: Quite right too. The only thing that could possibly improve a night in Arena is the knowledge that you’re saving endangered bears from being milked for their bile.
