The Clothes Boys love to hate…

Patterned Leggings…

Not the most reviled item of clothing, but on the whole the boys we spoke to weren’t massive fans. ‘Unflattering’, ‘ridiculous’, and, somewhat concerningly, ‘confusing’ were words bandied about in relation to the festive favourite. An unnamed source did say, however, ‘if she had good legs I’d still do her’.

Converse…

We LOVE converse. The easiest shoes to wear for almost every occasion, what’s not to love about the humble converse whether hi top or low rise? However, word on the grapevine is that boys are tiring of seeing converse, well, EVERYWHERE. To quote one of our BNOC’s, ‘are there NO OTHER shoes out there?!’ So, girls, embrace some other shoes. Just maybe not…Creepers.

 (Jeepers) Creepers…

Rihanna and Rita Ora are fans, as are high end brands like Ashish and Cassette Playa. The thick-soled shoe has undergone something of a fashionable resurrection, transformed from part of a niche, subcultural uniform to something rather more mainstream and although not being the most elegant example of fashionable footwear, they’re pretty popular right now. Hated by boys, loved by the edgy fashonista, beware if you’re a girl that dresses for boys…

 High Waisted Shorts –

Apparently these are ‘as close to a chastity belt as you can get’. Who knew? The high waisted short was voiced by pretty much every male we spoke to as being a hated outfit staple for girls. Apparently a no-go from a boy’s perspective, largely for being an impediment to easy access and for being, once again, unflattering.

 Long skirts –

Well this one’s a surprise. Boys (or at least the ones we spoke to) could not see the point of the maxi skirt AT ALL. Maxi’s are apparently hated because of the poor material to flesh ratio. Maxi(mum) style points but minimal approval from the boys on campus.
