Bnoc in parking palaver

This young lady has always been a conscientious driver, piloting the Red Bull car around Exeter with skill and alacrity.

So imagine the horror when one of our Bnoc of the year candidates was told she had ‘parked like a cunt’ on a sleepy student street.

The student in question innocently parked her VW Polo on Waverley Avenue on Monday morning. She returned at lunchtime to find a ticket from youparklikeacunt.com fastened to her windscreen.

The hateful website, which has over 10,000 likes on facebook, attempts to name and shame the worst parkers in the world.

The student, who wished to remain unnamed, said: “At first the note seemed laughable, but then it increasingly angered me. Its obnoxious and outrageous slogans were unnecessary and really make you question what kind of people are out there and what posses them to come up with such a concept and ridiculous website.

“Admitedly my rear wheel was slightly out of the parking bay, but who has the time to go round brandishing explicit slogans at poor parkers!”

The sinister ticket informed the girl her car had been photographed and would appear on the site.

The ticket read: “Your parking has committed the following violation: Jutting out of the space too far. Do the world a favour and learn how to park or start walking everywhere.”

A friend and housemate of our BNOC is concerned there could be something darker behind the ticket, stating that “whether this is someone’s job or hobby, it seems a ridiculous way to spend time. Perhaps it be seen as a joke if it had been placed on a car in a renowned student street, but the fact this occured on a quiet, out-of-the-way residential street makes you wonder what the real purpose behind this is.

The police told the students there was nothing they could do as they do not have the power to shut down the website.

Defiant, she said: “It almost makes me want to park badly again to catch the person behind it.”
