Olly Murs lookalike in Impy punch up

Police are hunting for the Xfactor star’s doppelgänger after pub brawl

Imperial Olly Murs police

Police are hunting an Olly Murs lookalike suspected of kicking a pub-goer in the head at The Imperial.

Having it: the lookalike poured his curves into a purple shirt

CCTV images of the suspect show a chunky reveller bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Heart Skips a Beat singer.

Showing Murs-esque levels of sartorial awareness, the suspect is seen with the top button of his purple white-spotted shirt firmly fastened.

However, the manboobs bursting from his outfit could well prevent him winning any lookalike contests.

The victim is not thought to have known the suspect, but was pushed to the ground and kicked in the head after intervening in an argument between the loutish Murs doppelgänger and another man.

Police believe the suspect is 5ft 8in and say he left the pub with a group of friends shortly after the incident.

Police say they have made ‘no arrests at this time’.

The Impy told The Tab ‘we have door staff on every day for the safety of our customers, but unfortunately the nature of the alcohol retail business means that these things happen.’

Staff assured The Tab they will continue to work with the police, using their extensive CCTV coverage to identify the perpetrator.

J. D. Wetherspoon would also like to apologise to Olly Murs for any offence caused by this unfortunate comparison.

There is no suggestion Olly Murs was involved in the incident

Anyone with any information should contact DS Paul Gregory at Exeter CID on 101 quoting DE/12/8991.
