The Exeter University student, Laura Johnson, who was accused of transporting stolen goods and aiding looters during the London 2011 riots has been sentenced to two years in jail.

The BBC reports that “Judge Patricia Lees said that, like so many others convicted over the riots, Johnson showed a weaker side to her character because she thought she could get away with it."

The jury deliberated over her verdict for NINE hours.

Johnson will serve half of a two-year sentence in prison due to time spent under a qualifying curfew.
